Alu-Cab roof tent Expedition Gen3 R black
Experience the legend: the Alu-Cab EXEPEDITION GEN3 R roof tent in elegant black.

Made entirely of aluminum, it can withstand the toughest loads and can be opened and closed in no time. It is a reliable companion and can follow you anywhere - a roof tent that offers endless freedom!

With a length of 2.30 m, a width of 1.40 m and a weight of 76 kg, the tent offers a comfortable interior height of 1.60 m, making it a comfortable place to sleep. There is also a double 12V cigarette lighter and USB ports to charge your electronic devices!

The innovative Alu-Cab Gen 3-R roof tent is similar to the Expedition Gen 3.1 and contains some improvements! Thanks to roll forming technology for the construction of the roof, the tent is sturdier than ever!
The new design with the decreasing and sloping ceiling as well as the retracted sides at the front makes the ALU-CAB ROOF TENT EXPEDITION GEN3 R BLACK far more elegant than its predecessor. The attractive alternation between aluminum quintet checkered plate and a smooth aluminum sheet gives the roof tent additional fascination.
The new design makes it more aerodynamic and less resistant to wind forces. This improves controllability at high speeds, as well as reducing wind noise and fuel consumption.

The robust roof, which is reinforced by two integrated cross beams, is ideal for transporting loads, installing a solar system or as a viewing platform.

ADVANTAGES OF ALU-CAB ROOF TENT

The Alu-Cab roof tent Expedition not only fits perfectly with the Alu-Cab hardtops, but is the first choice for anyone who wants to leave their roof tent on their vehicle permanently. It is light and strong enough to withstand even extreme conditions - and therefore offers unrivaled stability and durability.

Aluminum is a robust, corrosion-resistant and durable material that does not age due to UV light. It is also stable to variations in temperature. When rock falls, only scratches and dents are visible, but unlike GRP tents, it does not leave any holes in the shell. An aluminum roof tent is therefore the best choice for anyone who wants to attach a lot of items to the tent.

Brackets allow you to mount headlights, jacks, shovels, antennas, canisters, solar panels, etc. Athletes can carry kayaks, bicycles or skis on the roof of the roof tent. A storage box can also be installed. Sleeping bags, pillows and bedding can be stored in the tent.

OPEN AND CLOSE

To open the tent, simply unlock the two rear latches, lift the end slightly and the tent opens by itself thanks to the built-in gas springs. Thanks to the built-in gas springs, the tent is quick and easy to set up, making your trip quick and get started without any problem!

The three entrances are equipped with mosquito nets, and the rear entrance also has a guyed canopy to protect against sun and rain. This is held open by two quick-release rods. The tent is pulled down slightly at the side via the entrances. This means the top zip can be opened for ventilation without rain getting in. The wider upper shell compared to the tent offers additional protection in the rain.

Recognizing that these tents are revered around the world, superior heat and cold insulation is necessary to withstand even the most strenuous conditions.
However, the roof structure and base of the Generation 3.1 are generously insulated with a closed cell foam liner, providing excellent comfort and insulation all year round. An awning cover was also installed over the rear door of the tent to keep rain, snow and frost out of the rear opening.

The Alu-Cab Expedition Gen3 R BLACK tent is 2.30 m long, 1.40 m wide and weighs 78 kg. Enjoy the unique convenience of the 1.60 m high ceiling in the front area, which also has LED lamps and USB ports.

The two-layer 400 g/m² tent fabric is waterproof and UV-resistant. The rip-lock equipment prevents it from tearing further when cuts are made.
All seams are sealed for sealing.

Thanks to a 75mm thick, high-density foam mattress, pleasant sleeping comfort is ensured. The cover can be removed for washing using a zipper.

  • Length - outside: 2,300 mm/ inside: 2,100 mm
  • Width - outside: 1,400 mm/ inside: 1,300 mm
  • Height closed - Front: 210mm/ Rear: 280mm
  • Height open - inside: 1,600mm/ outside: 2,000mm
  • Weight: approx. 78kg

An all-round elastic band pulls the tent fabric inwards when the tent is closed and prevents the tent fabric from getting caught between the two shells or the gas pressure springs. The arrangement of the gas struts on the outside prevents mattress borders and tent fabric from getting caught over the duvet when closing. Unlike the springs mounted inside the tent, condensation on the gas springs is not a problem.

If necessary, the tent can be secured against unauthorized opening with one or two padlocks.

    TENT FABRIC AND MATTRESS

Both the floor and the roof are equipped with a closed, porous polyethylene foam. This ensures good insulation and insulation properties, both against cold and heat. This increases comfort while reducing condensation in the tent. The roof is also covered with a multi-layer quilted fabric.

The two-layer 400 g/m² tent fabric is waterproof and UV-resistant. The rip-lock coating prevents it from tearing further during cuts. All seams are sealed waterproof.

The 75 mm thick, high-density foam mattress ensures a high level of sleeping comfort. The cover can be removed with a zipper for washing. There is a storage roof on the roof with several pockets for storing small items.

    SETTING UP TENT AND ACCESSORIES
The two outer longitudinal profiles on the underside of the tent are equipped with C-rails on the outside. These are used to assemble the tent and can also be used to attach accessories. Two flat aluminum profiles with C-rails are also attached to the tent roof shell. Alu-Cab roof racks or other accessories can be attached to this.

Commercially available M8 hexagon screws (DIN933) can be inserted into the Alu-Cab-specific C-rail profiles on the underside of the tent. Truss head screws with a square neck (DIN603) fit into the C-rails on the sides and on the roof. This makes the application very easy, as no special retaining plates or slot nuts are required, and in conjunction with a lock nut it is also very reliable.

Of course, it is also possible to simply drill through the aluminum shell to mount accessories or the tent itself. Something that is not possible or only possible to a very limited extent with a GRP tent because of the risk of breakage and cracking. Accessories in the roof lining can be attached to the two cross struts.

The ALU-CAB ROOF TENT EXPEDITION GEN 3 R BLACK has connections for solar panel and auxiliary heater, as well as the well-known mesh pad, USB plug, a charging port, and LED lighting in the interior. The headliner of the ALU-CAB ROOF TENT EXPEDITION GEN3 R BLACK has been improved to provide more storage space - and it now also has a rear and side rain cover!
