TEXU400

| /

The TEXU400 is a DC high-current distributor for up to 400 A total current. Positive and negative busbars are integrated for connecting batteries/battery banks and consumers, as well as a factory-installed shunt bridge on the divided negative rail for optional integration of a total current measurement and/or a main switch. All connections are fused, and fuse failure monitoring takes place on the consumer side.

TEXU400 is flameproof against flammable gases according to ISO8846.

Working on electrical systems requires specialist knowledge and should only be carried out by qualified people.

Protection of the circuits

The positive busbar of the TEXU400 has connections for up to four battery banks, as well as for up to 10 high-current consumers and four standard consumers. All connections are fused, and a failure check is carried out on the consumer side with display via LED lighting, which is guided via a light guide to the corresponding label sticker on the cover.

Maximum permissible total current (duration): 400 A at 35°C / 350 A at 50°C.

Fuses

The positive busbar has fused connections for the battery and consumer sides.

The TEXU400 has space for a total of 15 fuses, one for each DC circuit.

The spaces are intended for the installation of MEGA, MIDI / AMI and ATO / ATC / ATP fuses.

Always use fuses of the correct voltage and current rating. Adjust the fuse strength to the maximum voltages and currents that can potentially occur in the protected circuit and keep in mind that the load at the nominal amperage only allows short-term protection. Please consult the fuse manufacturer's data sheets.

Use 32/36V fuses for 12V and 24V systems and 58V fuses for 48V systems.

Failure control display

The positive busbar of the TEXU400 is equipped with fuse monitoring for each circuit on the consumer side. If a fuse fails, the light from the indicating LED is guided via a light guide to the front cover and the associated labeling. This enables clear, easy diagnosis, even with the cover closed.

Please note: The failure check only shows defective fuses from connected consumers. The protection of the batteries and any connected chargers is not displayed by the TEXU400!

Attention: To implement failure control, a small current is intentionally allowed to pass the fuses. In some situations, this current can easily cause very small consumers such as LEDs built into devices or other LED spots to light up, even if a fuse has blown or been removed! Since this current is limited to approximately 1mA in 12V systems or up to 5mA in 48V systems, this phenomenon does not pose a safety risk and is completely normal.

Negative bus bar

On the negative busbar, each connection on the plus side has its own connection opposite it. The cable thicknesses to be used also correspond to their respective counterparts at 70 mm² and 50 mm². For cable thicknesses ≤35 mm2, double assignment of the connections is permitted if this can be achieved mechanically.

Shunt bridge

The split negative bus bar is factory connected via a shunt bridge. It can be removed via two M10 screw connections and replaced with the included insulating bar to integrate a measuring shunt and/or a main switch.

If the TEXU400 is loaded with the maximum current, attention must be paid to the suitability of the cable used for this.

  • The TEXU400 complies with the ISO8846 standard. It is therefore protected against ignition by flammable gases and is approved for installation in the engine compartment.
